Clermont restaurant brings community together with a free meal

Every Monday is Community Day at Muse Bistro + Bar, where the business offers free meals to anyone in need, no questions asked. Owner Aaron Straub has also partnered with Building Blocks Ministry to provide vocational training for people with special needs.

NC Housing Authority Launches ‘Pay What You Can’ Mobile Food Bus

One North Carolina Housing Authority in Robeson County has plans to launch a mobile "pay-what-you-can" food bus loaded with fresh fruits, vegetables and other foods that will serve families lacking transportation. The pilot program is one of a handful across the country to receive a $100,000 dollar grant from Save the Children's Rural Child Hunger Research and Innovation Lab to tackle rural hunger.

Rural Pennsylvanians say high living costs are their biggest issue

The high cost of living is the biggest problem for rural voters, according to a new national survey commissioned by Save the Children Action Network. Rural voters said the biggest problems were gas prices, general inflation and food prices. Three-quarters said they were changing how or what food they buy.

Tackling hunger & healthcare top priorities for rural voters, survey shows

Save the Children and Save the Children Network commissioned a bipartisan team to conduct a poll studying the effects of inflation on those in rural areas.  Missouri, and the other Four States, are no strangers to the difficulties of accessing quality healthcare and childcare services. Poll findings were recently released that found rural and small-town voters have been hit hard by inflation and are struggling to feed their families.
